Coffee Bar

It would be a grouse understatement if I said I liked Pinterest. To be quite honest, I'm pretty positive that I have reached the point of OBSESSION. That being said, allow me to share my latest Pinterest inspired project!

For anyone who knows Daniel and I, you know that coffee is our drink of choice. SO we figured what better use of a blank {and somewhat random} wall in our kitchen than to create a coffee bar! I'm sure you've seen the pictures floating around Pinterest. Check out some of my favorites

You probably noticed that BEAUTIFUL iron shelf hanging above several of the above coffee bars.
SO. DID. I. And it was love at first sight. At that instant, I was on a mission to find said shelf and I
am happy to report |mission accomplished| thanks to a wonderful little store called Hobby Lobby.

Using our inspiration from the bars above,Daniel and I were able to successfullygather enough
items to created our own coffee bar {Including a clearance table from Home Goods, a vintage
window shutter from a local antique store, fresh coffee beans, & several Left-over Mason jars
from our wedding}. Check out our finished product!

What do you think? Any suggestions?

Juicing

In an effort to kick start some healthy changes to our lifestyle, Daniel and I have decided to do a 10 DAY JUICE REBOOT {fruits, vegetables, & herbs only}

The "juicing program" we are following is based on a documentary entitled, "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" by a man named Joe Cross. Basically Joe was an overweight, unhealthy, extremely sick man who decided it was time for a change. SO, after consulting doctors and nutritionist alike, Joe decided to do a 60 day juicing reboot. As a result, Joe lost an intense amount of weight (100+ lbs) AND was able to stop all medications because his disease was CURRED mind. blown.

While Daniel and I won't be going quite this extreme, we are both really excited to see what comes of this adventure. We've both felt very convicted as of late of the need to be good stewards of our bodies. If you're interested, the entire documentary can be found by clicking this YouTube link.

We also took some time to check out the book of Daniel to recall exactly what he and his friends faced when they took a stand {much different than ours} and told the king they would only eat vegetables.

Today marks |DAY TWO| of our juicing and I can honestly say, it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. However, easy is just not a word I would consider using at this point - especially after last night's dinner, "Joe's Mean Green":

6 Kale Leaves
1 Cucumber
2 Celery Stalks
1 Green Apple
1/2 Lemon
1 Small Piece of Ginger Root

I'll keep you posted... For now, check out our hull from Whole Foods on Sunday. And our stocked fridge. Pretty impressive when you consider that the TWO of us alone will consume ALL of this over the course of the next 3 days.

"Test your servants for TEN DAYS; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink."  ~Daniel 1:12

I'd love to hear your thoughts, but will offer the disclaimer that I DO NOT pretend for a second to, in any way, be an expert on the subject. Off to finish drinking my "dinner"!

One Year Anniversary

On JUNE 15, 2012 I married my best friend, the absolute LOVE of my life and became Mrs. Daniel Langston. The memories & special moments from that day still bring a ridiculously large grin to my face & an unspeakable joy to my heart.

“I have found the one whom my soul loves” {Song of Solomon 3:4}

This year has indeed brought many changes {graduation, marriage, moving to a entirely new state, "joining" the Air Force as a military wife, and attending an entirely new church - just to name a few}, but there is NO ONE I would rather have by my side to share in life's adventures than my loving, hard-working husband Daniel.

Yesterday, Daniel and I celebrated our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY by traveling to the charming town of Ogunquit, Maine.

While in Ogunquit, we were able to walk Marginal Way {A beautiful, historical walkway along the coastline of the rocky New England beach}

During our weekend visit we were also able to stop by several of the adorable shops and restaurants; all within walking distance of our BEAUTIFUL resort, Anchorage by the Sea. Our weekend ended with a relaxing breakfast at a local spot, “Wild Blueberry”.

Here’s to many more happy years together celebrating God's goodness & faithfulness to us!
